When I titled my last news letter 'Flaming June' I
didn't actually expect it to be a flaming June, this is Britain after all! However, wow, we could be in the Mediterranean and I'm
currently writing this whilst sitting in the garden surrounded by bird song and the scent of summer flowers.
Our studio stays blissfully cool, too cool in winter but now its a blessing. Most of my work has gone
off to various galleries recently so I've been enjoying putting together a new body of work to show during our Bull Mill Open
Studios event this coming weekend (7 + 8 July)!

So, the aforementioned Bull Mill Open Studio Weekend! Not
just Nick and I this time but all of the Bull Mill Studios will be opening too, this is one not to miss! Whats actually on then I hear
you ask? Well...
Most of the other artists and craftspeople who work at Bull Mill are
also opening their studios over that weekend (7 + 8 July) + one or two invited artists, from 10am -5pm
both days:
There is also an evening piano performance on Sat 7th at 6pm of 'A Calendar of
Trees' by Dean Brodrick and a woodland stroll and tree talk with Charlie
Noton (founder of Tree Researchtreeresearch.co.uk ) visiting the great oaks and hollies in
Southleigh Wood. Definitely one not to miss, I'm really looking forward to
the guided walk and piano performance!
Why not bring a bottle of wine and really get into the spirit of our beautiful summer event, I'm thinking Woodstock meets Spring Watch,
though this could just be in my head...

Nick is also producing an utterly beautiful collection of
drawings based on the woodland surrounding Bull Mill 'Southleigh woods'. All drawings are done on location in the woods and also
contain notes on Nicks observations whilst drawing. The body of work is being produced for our joint show in August at Shaftesbury Arts
Centre (more on that next news letter) but will be previewed this weekend! If you're familiar with Nicks 'Sticks in the
Smoke' project nickandrewblog.wordpress. , you'll know this is not
to be missed! Nick still has some spaces left on his 3 day Summer Art School at Stourhead 7-9 August. He is taking
